Today is our first sea day after three quite hectic port days. We are sailing from the Malacca Straits into the Bay of Bengal on very calm seas. We are now 3 hours behind east coast Australia and we are turning the clocks back another hour tonight - the captain has said that the clocks go back for the whole cruise until we lose a complete day when we cross the international date line - have to admit that we are enjoying the extra hour lay-in each morning.
Yesterday, we went to trivia and scored the second highest score of the day with 15, which we were so proud of... but how quickly the mighty can fall.... today we only scored 9... very hard questions... so hard that the best team only scored 12.
Before dinner tonight we had a musical show in the Princess theatre featuring vocalist Simon Gillespie, an Englishman living in Australia....he was a great entertainer - say many musical numbers and Peter Allen classics....loved his line where he said that he ‘didn’t so much think of himself as single - rather I think I am between disappointments’.
After dinner was the ‘Ultimate White Dance Party’ - we all had to wear white to party around the pool deck.... great music from the resident band ‘Derringer’ on a beautiful warm evening under the stars. Garry and Arnold turned up for dinner looking more like cricketers than ‘white hot party goers’.....and then had to compare knees!!!
We had a wonderful night- once again, the pastry chefs put on a magnificent dessert buffet - another extravaganza of cream and chocolate!! We didn’t even touch anything - it was too close to dinner - the photos tell the tale!!!
