According to poor old Murphy 'If anything can go wrong it will go wrong". Everyone else who is in this final countdown week before we actually sail, will have their time governed by lots of to-do lists and tight schedules.
And yesterday afternoon, into this turmoil came - the car crash!! Nothing serious - just a three car concertina - I was in the front - stopped at the traffic lights - only to hear a screech of brakes behind, looked in the rear vision mirror to see the car behind stopped - breathed a sigh of relief - just as she was hit from behind and pushed into me. Luckily there was very minor damage and no injuries - just another unnecessary hassle!
All this just adds a visit to the insurance assessor to a hectic schedule and I can't even think about getting it fixed before we get back home - will have to book it in for September.
If there is a silver lining, it is this - when I got out my driver's licence from its snug little compartment in my wallet - hasn't been out in five years - I realised that it expires in July THIS YEAR - while we are in Paris. Now I have a trip to the 'Licence renewal branch' to add to my schedule - otherwise my International driver's licence won't be valid - and we did want to rent cars in a couple of ports!! What fun!!
